全美台灣同鄉會誠摯恭賀台灣作家楊双子與譯者金翎 Lin King，以《臺灣漫遊錄》英譯本 Taiwan Travelogue 榮獲 2026 年國際布克獎。
這不只是一本書得獎而已。這是台灣文學、台灣文化、台灣歷史記憶與台灣人的聲音，第一次以這樣的高度站上世界文學舞台。從台灣出發、以漢文書寫的作品，經由翻譯被世界閱讀、理解、肯定，這一刻值得所有關心台灣的人一起驕傲。
《臺灣漫遊錄》寫的不只是旅程，也是一個時代、一座島嶼、一群人如何在歷史的縫隙中留下自己的名字。它讓世界看見，台灣不是他人敘事裡的附註；台灣有自己的語言、自己的記憶、自己的文學，也有能力用最細緻、最深刻的方式，說出屬於我們的故事。
我們特別感謝楊双子，以文學重新打開台灣歷史與文化的深度；也感謝金翎，以翻譯讓台灣的聲音跨越語言邊界，走進更廣大的世界。翻譯從來不是簡單的文字轉換，而是一場文化之間的接力。這一次，她們把台灣穩穩地交到了世界手中。
全美台灣同鄉會長年在海外推廣台灣文化、連結台美社群。我們深知，讓世界真正看見台灣，不能只靠政治新聞，也不能只靠國際局勢；還需要文學、藝術、語言、飲食、歷史與一代又一代台灣人的故事。從這個角度來看，《臺灣漫遊錄》的成功，是所有宣揚台灣文化者共同的鼓舞。
今天，我們不是以旁觀者的身份祝賀，而是以同行者、以戰友的心情向楊双子與金翎致敬。
謝謝你們讓世界看見台灣。也謝謝你們提醒我們：台灣文學不只是可以被翻譯，台灣文學更可以感動世界、改變世界理解台灣的方式。

Congratulations to Taiwan Travelogue on Winning the International Booker Prize
The Taiwanese Association of America warmly congratulates Taiwanese author Yang Shuang-zi and translator Lin King on winning the 2026 International Booker Prize for the English translation of Taiwan Travelogue.
This is not simply a literary award. It is a historic moment for Taiwanese literature, Taiwanese culture, and the many stories Taiwan has long carried but the world has not always heard clearly. Taiwan Travelogue is the first work of Taiwanese literature to receive the International Booker Prize, and the first novel originally written in Mandarin to win this honor.
Through this work, Taiwan is not presented as a footnote in someone else’s story. Taiwan speaks in its own voice — through its history, its food, its landscapes, its people, its memories, and its imagination.
We honor Yang Shuang-zi for opening a vivid and layered window into Taiwan’s past and cultural identity. We also honor Lin King, whose translation carried that world across linguistic borders with care, precision, and literary power. Translation is never merely the conversion of words. It is an act of cultural trust, interpretation, and courage.
For decades, the Taiwanese Association of America has worked with local Taiwanese American communities across the United States to share Taiwan’s culture, defend Taiwan’s dignity, and help the world see Taiwan more fully. We know that Taiwan cannot be understood only through politics, headlines, or geopolitics. Taiwan must also be known through literature, art, language, memory, cuisine, and the lived experiences of its people.
That is why this award means so much.
We celebrate this achievement not as distant observers, but as fellow advocates in the same cause: bringing Taiwan’s culture, history, and voice to the world.
